Kawaki returns to Jaggy’s grave and finds Himawari paying her respects. She then runs out of the village. Shikamaru tries to talk with her but she says that she is not interested in becoming a genin and walks away. He then gives her a mission with him and Cho-Cho. This mission will help her get closer to the rank of genin. However, he warns her that it will be difficult for her to complete the task. Ikada tells him that as he is the commander of the Funato’s army, he must suffer punishment. He also reminds him that his father Araumi died in the war. Kawaki feels that he needs to get back his revenge on him. As he thinks of this, he realizes that it will ruin the future for Kirigakure. This is what makes him decide to continue with his plan.
Naruto’s reaction
Boruto desperately tries to convince Ikada that they can end the decades-long war between Kirigakure and Funato. But Ikada’s hatred for the Mist and her desire to avenge her sister Seiren is stronger than his pleas. Finally, he offers to give up his life in exchange for Chojuro’s head. Sarada and Mitsuki are incensed at his offer of self-sacrifice, but they hold their ground and refuse to attack.
However, the currents in the water are strong and forceful enough to drown even a skilled swimmer. The Funato forces then launch a large-scale attack. Kagura is able to use her Hiramekarei to counter the jutsu, but it’s not enough to kill Funamushi. He impales her with his water style blade. Ikada’s death is a wake-up call for all of Team 7 and they decide to take a hardline against the Funato clan. Buntan and Kyoho attempt to stop them, but Denki and Metal talk them down.
